Twin Sisters running for US Office but in different political Parties. Rival ! (See Video)
Twin sisters Monica Sparks (right) Jessica Ann Tyson (left) from Kentwood, Michigan might be identical in every way from their hairstyles down to their voices.
When it comes to politics, however, they don’t see eye to eye that much.
According to the New York Post, these sisters are running as political opponents – in rival parties, of course:
Sparks is running as a Democrat for Kent County’s 12th district seat while her Republican sister, Tyson, hopes to represent the 13th district.
Tyson’s decision to run inspired her sister to launch her own campaign.
Per Jacaranda FM, each twin is campaigning for a seat on the governing board that oversees Kent County, which is home to 640 000 people and is the state’s second most populous area, after Detroit.
Y’all might be thinking that their political differences is an awkward topic of discussion, especially at the supper table.
Not so, the twins claim:
Their bond was tested when Tyson endorsed the Republican running in Sparks’s district, instead of her own sister, but both say family and sisterhood come first.
However, they do admit that Tyson’s support for Donald Trump is a bone of contention:
Sparks cites the controversial reality television star-turned-leader as the cause of the country’s political tumult – and a key reason why she is seeking office …Tyson is a Trump supporter.“I totally believe in our president,” she says, though she adds that she understands the concerns of those, including Sparks, who oppose him.
Well, after Trump’s recent antics with Playboy model Karen McDougal, I don’t think Tyson should be airing her love for the US president so soon.
